I'm Jem, a wedding photographer based in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, specializing in candid and authentic photography for couples who want to just enjoy their wedding day, and walk away with timeless photos that transport them straight back to their wedding day.
I first built my photography career in food and product photography, working with mission-driven brands (many of them are B Corps), and I have been featured in 30+ major international publications such as Forbes, MSN, HuffPost, AOL, and Real Simple, and have won a few international photography awards.
Over time, I found myself drawn to something more personal: weddings. An intimate celebration of love between two people who have chosen each other and decided to share this big day with the people they love!
Photography began as a hobby while I was completing both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Econometrics and working as a data scientist. What started as a creative outlet quickly became an obsession, and eventually, my career.
Having lived in the Netherlands for almost 10 years (and previously also in Indonesia, Singapore, and the US), I bring a multicultural perspective to my work, which is why photographing weddings of expats and mixed couples are my favorite! While as a yoga teacher, I also strive to bring a grounded and mindful presence to every wedding.
My approach is natural and unpretentious, focused on capturing authentic moments as they unfold. My goal is that whenever you look back at these photos, whether that’s one year later or forty years later, you will remember the day as if it were just yesterday!
